Minor Lacerations and Dermabond Wound Closure at Pediatric Urgent Care in Orlando, FL
Minor lacerations are usually shallow, small, not bleeding and clean. They may not require medical attention. If needed, an antibiotic ointment and a bandage can be used to help repair the laceration.
Dermabond Wound Closure
The Dermabond Wound Closure is used for sutures that are 5-0 or smaller in diameter. These small wounds are usually found on the face, extremities and torso. The Dermabond is not only strong, but it is protective. It provides a 99% protection in vitro for 72 hours against organisms commonly responsible for surgical site infections. For normal healing, the adhesive must be kept dry in order to properly heal for at least five days. Please don’t hesitate to consult with Right Now MD during your visit.
